That's outstanding. I like the concept, blending old-school looks and functionality with practical upgrades with the threaded barrel and better sights. Well done. Hope it serves you well over many miles.
I love my lever actions and that one beat them all!
I have 16" Marlin 336 LTS and a few 18"ers. I like to carry the 16" LTS, but enjoy shooting the 18's.
That is a great overall set up and I can't wait for some updates once you get it out and about.
Much liking!!!
No.
Just no thank you.
I AM very curious on that globe front sight set up. I had a challenging time setting up a tang sight on an older Marlin. It took a number of orders and much more math than I am capable of to get the correct front post height. It looks like the globe is paired with a basic Lyman/Williams receiver sight here however. Very interesting. 🤔
Working diligently to enlarge my group size.
That silver optic looks mighty good; I was intending to use the spare matte black H-1 I already had, but...
I put a Lyman globe front/Williams aperture rear on my "faux Maynard tribute" Contender carbine. It worked passably well for me on paper, but I was too much of a clod with the sight combo to do much thinning of the local squirrel and rabbit ranks unless they sat motionless too long.

I hate to disappoint, if you go looking for one, but the Aimpoint R-1 isn't made anymore. I'm not sure if used ones are "collectable" at this point, but they might be. I bought it on clearance from Midway for about half the going rate of the "tactical" colored ones back then. Was the same as the H-1/T-1, other than (I think) a clear anodized body. 4 MOA dot... For many years it lived under a coat or three of brown Krylon on one of my AR's. I did send it back to Aimpoint at one point when the rotary brightness knob stopped working on all settings. They fixed it for free.
I had long planned to buy a shiny stainless .357 levergun to put under it, and then Marlin went to Remington, and then Ruger... and prices went nuts. So it was a little project that was a long time coming. But its a very handy little package.
I'm still debating on what can to stick on the muzzle (probably not all the time)... thinking OCL Lithium 9, or something from ECCO Machine.
Can't hurt. To be honest, if I didnt' happen to have the silver one, I'd have just stuck a regular black T-1 or T-2 on there and been just as happy. I wouldn't pay a premium price for one today, just for the sake of color, that's for sure.
Steering a bit back on topic: My rifles iron sights are fast, but not super conductive to accuracy work when the distance increases. A big coarse front sight in a big ghost ring doesn't impress me much for my intended uses. It's crossed my mind to eventually do something different like Lost River has done.
The dot really is the easy button answer, so I may never address the irons.
