    What is an AOW?

I am working on making an AR style PDW that is in the style of a Rattler LT. I was thinking of building it as a pistol with a folding brace. I do want to put a vertical foregrip (VFG) but I am not sure if it would classify it as an AOW (Any Other Weapon) per the NFA rules. As I understand it, you cannot put on a VFG if the pistol is less than 26 inches long. Thus for the examples below:

    1) H&K SP5K-PDW sans brace: NO. You can't put on a K-grip.
    2) Sig Sauer Rattler LT with folding brace: NO: You can't put a VFG because it is 25 inches with the brace fully extended.
    3) Sig Sauer MCX-SPEAR LT 300 BLK pistol with a 9" barrel and folding brace: YES: you CAN put a VFG on because said pistol is now 27.75 inches long overall.

Am I right or will I go to jail?

Thanks! That makes sense as much as you make sense with NFA rules.
