I went to a book signing of his and shook hands with the man. His hands looked like the size of a catcher's mitt and I remember his handshake was markedly gentle. RIP.

Man, his winning back the heavyweight title when everyone said he was too old and washed, and watching his adjustment to his technique and style to do so was by far one of the most inspirational stories in boxing.

And that's saying something, because there's a lot of inspiration to be found in the sweet science.

    RIP

Yes. I was most likely frightened into buying his grill.

I remember watching those bouts with my Grandpop. He was a Golden Gloves champ from the early 40's, and was proud of the flat nose he received from Sugar Ray Robinson during a sparring match- so he knew a lot about the science.

One of my favorite all time fighters/people hell of a guy. RIP Big George you will be missed.

I’ve always said if old man fighter Big Georges brain could have been put in young fighter Big Georges body, he would have been the greatest heavyweight of all time nobody would have stood a chance against that.

    What a great interview!

The interviewer, BTW, is also the infamous Patsy Stone of Absolutely Fabulous. Which if you've never seen it, is very English, and a very, very funny satire of 1990's English yuppies.

    Also applies to American yuppies.

    RIP George Foreman.

Thanks for that video P30. George was a one of a kind. Great boxer and even greater man. I was a little worried for him when he made his come back but he was still just too good for that class of heavy weights. Probably the most powerful puncher of all time. A true loss.

Civility is not a tactic or a sentiment. It is the determined choice of trust over cynicism, of community over chaos.
