Quick thoughts on the range before I forget them!
Strings are noted by a dash, then O, then X

I thought the parrot would be hardest and I thought I’d be too slow and over confirm.

    Wrong on both!

1 uncalled shank low left on the body on 3rd run.

First two runs I had a lack of visual discipline on picking and holding to small spot on the head. Corrected that on the third run as seen by the hits!

Parrot, shot a little fast for my comfort level but I trusted it the sights and target spot and prayed I wouldn’t yeet the trigger 1 high on my last run.

Fail due to mikes, but they were close mikes hahaha

ETA: shot 2 on each target. The name of the drill should have been a clue!!

Shot it correctly with the 17 then 26!

I actually shot the 26 better I think. Similar times, but notably tighter on the body shots. Dropped a body shot way high on string 2 with the 17 (failed to return?) and then put one just above the parrot on the last run.

26 was going very well until I was too high (visual discipline) on the head again. Over transitioning and sending it.

    12.08 down 2 with the 17, 11.72 down 2 with the 26.

@noah, I shot it as 2-2-1 the first time also . Good shooting--and cool to see the 17 vs. 26.

The lesson from my shooting was the usual one! Visual discipline visual discipline visual discipline.

Want to be faster while having the needed level of visual discipline? Dry fire, you (me) dummy!!

Next time I shoot it I will have to be more deliberate to clean it. I struggle between not having enough visual discipline and over aiming unless I’ve really been doing my dry work and shooting.

Got to shoot this again while my brother picked me up during an oil change!

Visual pace felt a lot more deliberate but the times were about the same as last time, funny how practice and recency improve things. Still pulled high on the head on the last string, got too excited since it was going well haha

Got it right at the end, in a couple of ways…

Shot the drill right at the end of the month and got it right at the end. I was at my club’s outdoor range late morning to do some volunteer instruction after lunch. I took the opportunity to try this again.
Damnable parrots 🦜! First absolute cold run was good until of course the last shot, a touch high; 17 of 18 in 14.66 seconds. That won’t do, so I ran the second-clean-in 14.38 seconds.
This will definitely be in the rotation. I’ve enjoyed reading others runs at it.

3.77 Now did it have to be in the 9 or 8 ring? Reading can be hard, indoor range doesn't have good cell coverage, come on... Ok I'm in.

Alright, let's go faster... Off to a good start, and.... fail on the last shot, because I looked over my sights.

Such a great drill / test that will be worked in.

I started my session with a cold / clean iHack and was very happy with that. Recoil therapy was much needed, and this drill and my session brought a smile to my face.
