Watching for Primary Arms HTX-1 to start hitting the streets

So far as I can tell none of these are in buyer’s hands. The PA website has a note “Release 1: Fully Reserved” for both versions which sounds like they are still being produced.

I think this one has huge promise but I want to see how they do out in the wild for a bit - I don’t think I’d be comfortable being an early adopter, especially at the current price point.

Has anyone here actually gotten hands on one?

I did a Rev 16 QRC based on info available. If anyone with one in their hands can check for errors, I’d appreciate it.

I was curious as to the references in the manual of the chassis system accommodating ‘RMR A’ and ‘RMR B’ footprints. I’ve not come across this ‘A’ ‘B’ concept before. Interested in an explanation if someone knows.

I recall from a Shot Show interview that estimated release was May.

I think I saw somewhere that the RMR versions were with and without ZEV posts.

Ah so, very interesting. I’ll need to look into that.

    From the product page:

With each optic comes an RMR Type A, RMR Type B (raised screw bosses), and GLOCK MOS mounting interfaces making it easy to mount to your pistol right out of the box.

That seems to agree with the HTX-1 owners manual, snapshot below.

After you install the chassis plate, there are an additional four screws needed to secure the optic to the chassis. Two are 5mm and two are 6 mm. So that is six screws you have to install per optic. Hopefully users won't get them mixed up.

I checked the Trijicon web site (the owners of the registered trademark "RMR") and didn't find anything defining "A" and "B". According to the Instruction Manual, the RMR Type 2 ships with two pairs of #6-32 screws, but they don't show anything relating to the slide, in terms of recoil bosses or no.

I guess I never realized there were a couple different implementations of the RMR footprint that folks were milling their slides to.

ETA: As a quick check, I Iooked at what say Maple Leaf offered for a Glock cut to an "RMR". From the picture on their web site, looks like without the bosses, or Type "A", apparently.

"ZEV" slides on the other hand look like Type "B", with the bosses:

ZEV also mentions "patented RMR slide cut" so they must be the originators of this, I would assume.

A little dab of E6000 under the plate, a torque screwdriver and done!

Anyone know the window size of the Primary Arms HTX-1 RDS compared to the Holosun 509T ?

It’s pretty amusing how much pushback I got on that particular useful tip on some other social media sites that discuss the subject.

It works so well, that I’m surprised none of the manufacturers have adopted it as part of standard installation.
