    4. That doesn't matter much either if I just press the trigger consistently.
    5. That the score between a rimfire SHO and my M&P freestyle are similar.

The hope from this is (in untimed, accuracy oriented shooting) that the trigger control improvements in one carry over to the next and I can therefore substitute a good chunk, though not all, of my distance shooting using a 9mm, with SHO 22lr practice as the conditions of such practice dont require great recoil control or manipulation of the pistol (draws/reloads/transitions)

This will hopefully free up more ammo for practice that does clean up recoil control, handling and manipulation of controls

My SHO shooting has always been pretty bad. I tend to smack the trigger a bit more than I should which shows up in longer shots more often.
Depending on how they do this, I think different people are going to get different things out of it. It might be hardware, like where is your dot zeroed, how accurate is your ammo, how accurate is your pistol. It might be software, having to do with your press, grip or vision.

Faster shooting freestyle, support hand shooting

I started off today shooting two strings of five rounds freestyle from 25, keeping the trigger moving through the strings. It felt a bit scary, starting off like this, because the dot was in motion. Two shots felt sketchy, and I was amazed to see the target. The two "sketchy" shots were still in the 10 ring.

I did some more freestyle shooting, keeping the trigger moving, and here were all the shots.

Next, I shot 25 shots support hand only, from 25 yards. I did my best to stabilize the dot for each shot. I also tried to keep the pistol as vertical as possible, not canted, and kept my support hand flagged high, pressing up against the beaver tail. Here were the 25 shots.

Then I decided to give myself permission to miss, as part of keeping the trigger moving support hand, like I did freestyle. The dot was all over the place but I tried to be smooth on the trigger.

This is the first 25, and 25 shots shooting with continuous trigger presses. One went off when I wasn't expecting it and that was the high shot.

Something coming out of this is I can almost call shots based on how the trigger press feels.

You apparently need more caffeine, or more stress in your life, because that is a ridiculously steady support hand, sir.

Flagging my thumb up helps a lot.

Yep, I do the same when shooting one-handed with either hand.
