    Which rescue knife?

I have these two rescue knives, one SAK, one Sypderco. In my Forester, there is a drop down holder above the rear view mirror. So I keep a rescue knife and a Resqme GBO-RQM The Rescue Tool Keyring in it. Any opinions about which is the better? The SAK has more tools and its glass breaker is fixed. The Spyderco is internal and as to be squeezed out as little pointed nub. Thoughts?

The Swiss Army Knife by far. You will actually have reasons to use the various tools. Let's say you go to a remote place and have some canned goods. Dang, you didn't look at the beans and they are not easy open and you don't have a can opener. The SAK is just what you need. Or, let's say a shotgun shell is stuck in the barrel of your autoloader while out hunting. SAK to the rescue. Or, your dork friend bought beer, in bottles, without twist off tops. SAK again. And, like Cheap Shot says, that corkscrew has come in handy more than once. You can always push the cork into the bottle if you have to, but that's messy.

    Edit:
Just me, but I would get one with the corkscrew. Not to mention that mayonnaise and mustard spread better with the actual knife of the SAK.

The SAK, as mentioned, is definitely more versatile.

I have and love both Spydecos and SAKs. I have had one SAK that I found I didn’t love enough to keep a copy of, but it was not a Rescue. Pretty sure that is a super good knife. The only folding Spyderco I’ve ever not loved is an original Rescue. Just doesn’t work for me.

So I’d probably, between those two, go with the SAK.

I had a ResQMe on a key ring for a while. Pretty neat concept, but mine fell apart in less than a year.

Usually found somewhere between two major rivers that begin with the letter "M."
Another vote for the SAK. If I didn't already carry my Vic alox Soldier everywhere, I'd probably carry that one. It's a useful item even if the only thing you are likely to rescue is a bottle of Weihanstephaner.

(That being said, I have been tempted to get a Böker "Cop-Tool" to lash onto my hi-viz vest after seeing how it does not bother people who get the vapors over even a "boy scout knife.")

I and la gata naranja keep a ResQMe mounted handily up above both front doors of all our vehicles.

How many people have actually performed a recue? I'm not saying it won't happen but I think this may be fantasy for knife sales.

I carry a tool for window entry in my vehicle but no special knife.

I know a couple of people who have. Their stories to tell, so I won’t be sharing more than that, but I keep a blade in my vehicle as a tool for that.

Personally I’d consider the SAK an edc or survival bag type of item, and the spyderco a professional rescue tool. Spyderco - Pro rescue tool to efficiently cut seat belts, clothes for emergency medicine, harnesses, ropes, etc..

There’s a very efficient blunt tip cutter on that SAK.

I have that SAK and several spyderco rescue variants. The Spydercos are basic serrated folders and the SAK is a multi-tool. I like both types, but they are very different knives, different purposes, and carry differently.
