Those are seriously over pressure loads. ES and SD are horrible. I certainly wouldn't shoot any more of them. Are they new brass or fired brass.

Maybe pull some bullets on a few and weigh the powder charge. That won't tell you a lot without knowing what kind of powder but some info to know. I hope your revolver is OK.
There is a whole discussion thread about hot 10mm loads and how Lost River will only load them to levels that he feels safe/reliable while other companies are happy to push the boundaries. I don’t know what kind of warnings these boxes of ammo have on them but I’m of the opinion that unless you have the purchaser sign an “assume liability “ waiver like I understand Winchester does for their +P+ loads (and why they don’t make them directly available to non angency customers) you need to be willing to accept the responsibility if someone uses them in a non pristine bore.

The tone of the Buffalo Bore Owners reply was a bit unprofessional as best and deflecting the issue of course.

I will seek other suppliers for such products.

    Thank you for posting.

I learned this is the reason FA offers the .45 Colt cylinders.

That being said, if you have the means to disassemble a round and a decent scale, determining if an overcharge is the issue is possible. If you measure the powder weight and share it with Buffalo Bore, they should be able to tell you if they want to examine the other rounds. Hard to ignore powder weight measurements.
Re: lead- I’m familiar with the risks of using lead bullets in high-velocity rifles with poor results, but I have a hard time imagining significant fouling with 50 coated bullets at 600-800 fps.

Re: powder measurement - That’s a good idea… I have a digital scale that I use for determining my own powder drops. But my handgun bullet puller is an inertial (hammer-shaped) puller. Using it often has a bit of power splattering about when the bullet eventually pops out.
But I have a bullet-pulling collet for .308. I’ll have to see if that can work, leaving all the powder in the case to be measured.

I am also thinking of asking my gunsmith if he can “slug” the barrel in its present state, to determine whether some of the grooves are filled with lead and decreasing the diameter. Then I guess I’d need to see if S&W can tell me their spec…

Other ideas or opinions are welcome.

Strange, I have picked up bullets washed out of a berm with the coating right where it started.

That’s pretty much been my experience. And we’re talking about a whole 1-7/8” barrel doing all that “wiping”, too.

Thanks for posting. I'll file this away for future reference when it comes to order ammo.

If the jacketed Hornady fired right before the Buffalo Bore was factory loaded and worked without problems ... kinda hard to blame the barrel condition.

(and I'd advise stopping after the first anomalous round, until you've figured out what caused the anomaly)
