    Yes to illumination.

Seeing and shooting out to 600 with a quality 8x scope isn't difficult for me, but I am at a higher altitude and the sun is bright.10X is definitely better. If you can swing 16x or 20x, then you can get good definition at those distances.

On a 14-16" AR, I prefer a 1-6 or 8x. For 18-20", I think a slimmer 3-18 would be pretty sweet. I'm currently running a Sightron S-TAC 3-16x42. MIL illuminated reticle, FFP, 25 oz, zero stop. The only downside is the turrets are exposed and do not lock. The prices are very reasonable for the quality of the glass and the features

I took some time today to look over the published info on the upcoming PA SLx 2-10x40 SFP, and I'm really intrigued. Posted weight is 22oz, right in line with the Mk4HD. It has the PA Nova mil reticle that's in the 1-6, and that fiber wire dot and SFP reticle solves the problem of a usable reticle at 2x. 12x is a reasonable magnification for using the reticle mil hashes, and simple math shows it would have a 3.3mm exit pupil at that mag. That's at the bottom range of being user friendly although I consider 4mm to what I like at the top of a SFP scope. Cutting the measurements in half at 6x isn't hard math to do on the fly. I'm assuming it would accept the Autolive battery cap which really makes it interesting.
I need to get my SLX 1-6 out at some further range to see what I think of the glass clarity, as I have it on a .22lr and never look at anything past 100 yards. If the glass is, for example, Athlon Helos gen 2 level then I could live with that scope on a SPR or longer range/hunting based AR upper. Downgrading a Razor 1-6 to a SLx scope is just, not smart.

I would like to see an uncapped elevation turret on that 2-12.

Also, the Mark4HD is available as SFP if you want to go that route.

I’m a fan for illumination on LPVO for a daylight bright dot and in my precision scopes for night vision. I’ve not had too much trouble with a PVS-30 on a moonlight night and DBAL D2 out to 500 yards with these setups.

I like my rifles like my women - short, light, fast, brown, and suppressed.
