For me, I’d have to add another $300 or so for a dehump. Still not horrible, IIRC about what my 45 with direct milled ACRO was.

I feel unsure about this one. Whereas with the leaked Staccato picture which totally gave me the sour candy face look when I first saw it, I may pick up one of these... I'm really trying to just focus on the Glock and shed the rest of the stuff I don't need, not that the used gun prices at the moment are making that possible. I recently got a G26 MOS with SCS and ordered a backup G26 MOS because I was concerned about their future availability. It looks like H&K is dropping the VP9SK in the -A1 refresh because of their new CC9. Looking at the tea leaves, I see Glock taking a similar approach. As far as the talk in this thread and others about the virtues of the G26 vs G43X/48. Let's just say I'm trying to find an out to get rid of my G48, magazines, and accessories. I'll probably end up just saving it for my daughter or son though if they every show interest given the market.

I love the G26 and hate the SCS. The SCS looks like a 15 MOA dot with my astigmatism; I've never had that issue with any other red dot that I've tried. I don't know if it is the green or something about that particular site that causes it to bloom so much. If these COA packages had been available then and they were offering a G26 model, I think it would have been a no-brainer to pick up two of them. Already having two G26s, would I get rid of them at a loss to then pick up two of these if they were offered? That seems like a really poor financial decision. lol. As much as I'd like to get away from a plate and the new mounting cut does look stronger, I'd probably still just be better off going to replace the SCS with an EPS carry. But, maybe... given that I often make poor financial decisions. That being said, it isn't even an option with their current lineup.

I think they may have made more money off this if they also offered just a slide and optic package which I know has been mentioned elsewhere in this thread. As much as mismatched serial numbers makes my OCD flair and I get itchy thinking about it, I'd be much more likely to go this route than buy an entire new gun. I'd think others would be in the same boat, especially if they have non-MOS Gen5 guns lying around. There has been a market after all for aftermarket Glock slides that have a certain optic cut or pattern. I don't know if anyone sees these slides as better performing than a Glock slide, those some people might be attracted to the slide milling or cuts like some viral influencer handbag trend. For anyone with a wife that has experienced the Boog Bag handbag that look like a giant Croc shoe, I feel for you.

All that being said, I do want to pick up one more Glock either a 34 or 47 before I'm done. Will this cause me to lean towards the 47. Maybe...

I think the two biggest holdbacks on this one for me are window size and the question mark surrounding the optics reliability. On a 45/47/34, I think that I'd rather have something the size of the Vortex Defender-XL or Holosun 507COMP. And, what a strange world it feels I'm in where I'm more likely to trust a new Vortex or Holosun site than an Aimpoint product. I thought the Acro P was going to be the GOAT. I have a P2. It is my least favorite optic outside of the SCS. The small glass and a huge frame that makes the glass feel smaller just doesn't feel acceptable. All the keyboard warriors that justified this for the durability the optic would provide when it originally released seemed to have quitted down for the most part as it appears the general consensus is that these optics fail as much or maybe even more often than the Holosun and similar optics due to the complexity that comes along with the closed emitter design. That being said, I haven't heard the same issues of particles and gunk inside, leaks in the seal, or issues with the mounting interface for the 509. And, the 509 has a smaller footprint and larger glass.

This is probably the longest post that I've ever written on the forum. Maybe that says something about how ambivalent I am towards this announcement at the moment.

Apologies if this has already been posted. It is sometimes hard to stay on top of all this when threads top 100+ posts.

I’m curious if this cut can be direct milled - it might be the only path to a COA equipped G26.

How are you going to get the optic?
I had an ER nurse in a class. I noticed she kept taking all head shots. Her response when asked why, "'I've seen too many people who have been shot in the chest putting up a fight in the ER." Point taken.

I see no reason it couldn't if one has a milling machine. There will be some cost in cutting tools with the proper angles, as you aren't talking about off the shelf end mills, drills and taps like with other footprints. But it's totally doable.

They won’t be a Glock package exclusive forever. It’s more academic for me, I’m happy with my direct milled RMRcc G26.5 for the foreseeable future.

I think my concern would be if there’s meat where it needs to be - especially around the rear sight dovetail or with a MOS cut pistol.

Oh I see your point now. Good question. Somebody needs to get one of these and do some measuring! I may pick up another couple of 26.5s in standard config just because I don't trust them to keep building them.

I can see this as a good solution to screws THROUGH an RDS to mount it. Now, you don't have to worry about the location of mounting holes for pre existing foot prints dictating your design. You can place battery, electronics, LED, glass, however you want, and not have to design around the two screw holes in the middle of it all.

The A shape of the ridge seems like a pretty smart solution to offset any manufacturing dimension variations if other companied produce sights to fit this set up.

Aimpoint and Glock had better let other makers use this design if they don't want to end up holding a dead end product.

It has promise. But no clue on IF it will take off.

For now, 90% of the time I still carry a 365XL slide with Romeo X on a 365 Frame.
