    "Holosun on life support"

I have heard this through a few people, holosun may be impacted heavily by the new tarrifs that have been floated by President Elect Trump.

    Thoughts?

I'm expecting the high quality, low cost thermals to be impacted too. I want to eventually grab an Iray RH25. The first version was on blow out for $3600 but I just can't swing that kind of purchase. The newer version is more expensive. I expect both to disappear completely.

I wouldn't be shocked to see any foreign stuff take a big price jump. Short term we may have price and availability issues. Long term I think we'll see some benefits.

Any tech manufacturer could potentially be hit hard based on small parts and resources alone.

It won’t. In fact the lack of competition will do the opposite.

    True. Unfortunately for us.

Maybe - I dunno people originally bought Holosun because it was cheaper and quality wasn’t parallel (or better). But quality kept improving and people paid higher prices for American made better products.

Once quality has met or exceeded American quality… I would think logically folks would be inclined to buy what they want at a higher price. SRO’s for example I think have been displaced in features and durability not just price for example. But it’s like 40-50% premium ($600-ish) over $400-ish for Vortex Defender XL’s or Holosun’s.

Imports aren’t banned. Hopefully this gives more margin for American manufacturers to push innovation. I dunno - I’m not an economist.

    I’d pay 40% more for a 509t2 or EPS

That’s what I was thinking. The initial appeal of Holosun was a price point. But I’d say that’s not the primary appeal now.

    I could be wrong.

Maybe it isn't a profitable endeavor at this point. Adding 20% to the price of the competition may make it more viable.

Time will tell. Bringing manufacturers back to the USA won't be cheap, but we really need to make it happen, pain be damnned. We're far better off if we start starving the PLA of our money sooner, rather than later.
