Thread: Recoil spring for beretta 80x?

    Recoil spring for beretta 80x?

I’m considering converting my 380 80x to 32acp. Apparently, the Beretta 81 barrel and magazine are a fit. But how about the recoil spring? Will the original work? BTW, there are no spares available in the US, according to Beretta…
    Thx

My recollection from prior discussions is .380 mags & recoil spring work fine.

Could probably email these guys for confirmation.

The OEM recoil spring has worked fine with .32 ACP in my wife’s 80X for several hundred rounds so far. I trust it.

Thanks for that. I’m hoping that replacement springs, sights, etc. will be coming along… Did you use an 81 magazine? Bob

Yes, an 81 barrel and magazines. Also have an Allegeny Gun Works threaded .32 barrel. Both barrels work very well.
I reported more details in the Beretta 80X thread that started about 18 months ago. If you haven’t read through that thread already, you may find it helpful.

Thanks, and how did you find the sights, with the 32? I had to shim my rear sight, with380. Shooting very low at 15 yds.

We found them to be essentially dead on at 5-7 yds. There’s an RDS on the gun now, and no significant difference in POI with the OEM .380 barrel and the Allegany threaded .32 barrel.
