Back when I was chasing velocity, I noticed that my .44 Contender shot every load I put together into ragged holes. I was just smart enough to realize that was a clue. If I use a chrono now, it's just out of curiosity.

My main concerns are accuracy, PF (if applicable), and function (in a semiauto). For the animals I hunt, at the ranges I hunt, starting loads work well enough that I don't do much load development.
