Thread: Best Options for General Purpose/Defensive Manual Repeater Rifle

The Drover is $1200 to $1300. Euro Optic has it on sale for $999. In seems pricey to me.

The Finnish site is pretty decent. https://choose.tikka.fi/usa

I don't see the Drover there, but it's probably pretty close to the Battue Lite with an adjustment for the CTR mag system.

The Drover certainly has my attention. The open sights should work for me, even though I am left-eye-dominant. Apertures, peeps, and optics compel me to shoot left-handed, for best result, but open sights, especially with a hi-visibility front, should work well from either shoulder. (This is true with my Browning BLR and Benelli M2 open sights.)

I'm old school and hunted with a bolt rifle for many years. I have one now but it's built for precision shooting, it isn't a utility rifle like the Tikka Ranch series.

Interesting marketing concept here with these rifles. I'm going to take a look at these if I can find one locally. .223 is a good cartridge choice.
Not exactly local to Camano Island, but I've handled the 308 version at Sportco in Fife. They seem to keep almost the entire Tikka line in stock. Outdoor Emporium in downtown Seattle is a sister company and may have one as well.
