A QRC for Justin Dyal's "Par 4" Drill has been added:

    https://pistoldrillqrc.wordpress.com...5/04/par_4.pdf

You will need an 8" circle for this, so I added an 8" Circle printable target file:

    https://pistoldrillqrc.wordpress.com...4/8-circle.pdf

This drill focuses on situational accuracy at speed. Justin covers this drill, and a few other things, here:

    https://www.swatmag.com/article/stan...ational-speed/

"...The four-second par time gives you just enough time to do everything right with a slight fudge factor to get that tenth of a second confirmation that lets you know as the sight lifts that the hit is good. The more common problem with shooters on Par 4 is they break the shots an interval too soon and are a hand’s width wide of the scoring circle. The object is not speed; the object is control. Speed under control is the hallmark of a master..."

RJ, I can't tell you how much I appreciate your continuing work and contributions. I had a chance to visit my old indoor range today and ran the "Par 4". 9 of 10 hits, the mike a papers width off the circle's line @2 o'clock.
I'm so old(fashioned), I've printed the cards and targets out for a range notebook-thanks again.
Edit to add: also used Pat Mac's 5 Second Standards to evaluate backup sights on G19 I was using.

That is good shooting! Par 4 kicked my butt. I ended up with 2 out of 10 on the circle the other day. I really need to try that again.

I pretty much suck at shooting, but the tech stuff, I have a small handle on that. I hope by compiling these drills and posting them online, it makes them more accessible and less likely to be forgotten, and I'm very glad to do it. Thanks for the encouragement and kind words, I appreciate it.

    Missin' the "Like" button.

I wouldn't be discouraged, RJ. You are way on the right(positive) side of the curve because you get out, practice and evaluate. Few gun owners/operators do, to include all levels of LE.

For me, accuracy at distance is work-look at GJM and his accomplishments! I'm nowhere near that level, but these little evals which you promote keep me interested. The 20 yard distance was a bit intriguing, so I decided to give it a shot(pun intended).
Please keep up the good work!

    Follow up...

RJ, as I've heard a few times-"some days are diamonds, some days are stones".
I shot a couple of runs today: Givens May,'25 DotM and the Dyal Par 4 on a plate rack at our club. The best plate rack run was 6 out of 10. My DotM was 289 out of 300.

Just keep working; now I have an objective to hit 9 or 10 for 10 outside! Good "hunting" to you sir.

That is very true...and good advice. I appreciate the comments, and am always glad to hear these are useful.

I still am not quite sure if these are bots or what, but the last 30 days the site seems to be getting some international hits, which I am glad to see.
