A member on another forum mentioned Jeff Cooper's Failure to Stop Drill. Not sure how I missed this.

I conversed with a Gunsite alum who checked his notes for the range, 7 yards. For "basic" I picked 3 seconds from the holster; for "advanced" I used Gabe's pin times from the F2S string of his Technical Skills Tests.

Just a couple additions to the printed target file section of the Pistol Drill QRC web site:

    USPSA Head Box (Rev A)

    and

A Block target with a 15 yard 6 o’clock sighting image (3″ circle) overlaid, per Federal Specification D-P-355a

I received an email I got my 50th subscriber yesterday; which was pretty cool.

Thought it would be an idea to sum up where the Pistol Drill QRC site is using the "jetpack" insights Wordpress provides.

Through today, the site has had 2,170 views with 855 visitors, lifetime. In the last 30 days, visitors have come from the United States, New Zealand, Germany, Norway, South Africa, France, Bahamas, Netherlands, Australia, and the United Kingdom. I have 53 subscribers, and 1 Facebook share (no clue what this was about, I'm not on Facebook).

The three most popular QRCs downloaded by number this month were:

    2-2-1_drill.pdf (115)
    failure_to_stop-1.pdf (65)
    1911_addicts-1.pdf (59)

Collecting these drills into QRCs has been an interesting exercise, and I'm glad if they help someone out at the range.

The majority of my time over the past month was in updating all of the optic cards on the QRC sister site, Mini-Red Dot Sight Quick Reference Cards, to Revision 16, but there were some recent updates on the Pistol Drill QRCs of note:

The “Bakerfield PD” and Justin Dyal’s “Double and 1” drill QRCs were edited and updated.

I also made some general site tweaks to wording and card names for consistency.

    A new drill, Tom Given’s “3-2-1 in 6 @ 6” was added:

The following Printable Target files were also added:

USPSA Lower A Zone target (ok, well, approximately)

USPSA Head Box with a 3” “sticky” note target

    https://pistoldrillqrc.wordpress.com..._box_w_3x3.pdf

USPSA Head Box with a 2” circle at left target

As of March 2025, the site has 56 subscribers, with over 1,000 visitors and 2,935 views, since launch last October. I hope these cards continue to be useful. Thank you for all the continued support and comments, I appreciate it.

Are you a dept or unit armorer, or just want a complete set of all target pdf files?

A link to a downloadable compressed zip file has been added to the top of the Target File page for your convenience. The zip file is less than 1M, and when uncompressed locally, will populate a directory with all current targets on the web site.

The link is located on the top of the Target File page, and also provided below for convenience:

    https://drive.google.com/file/d/1S0f...usp=drive_link

What I've been noticing in looking at the web site statistics, that there is a lot of activity involving downloading the target files. That being the case, it occurred to me it might be useful to provide, at one go, all the target files, for anyone who wanted to save some time just to grab them all off the web site.

Thanks and as always I appreciate the interest and support for this project.

Thanks for the great resource! I printed up the whole lot due to the small form factor of my phone.

Quick Reference Card News – April 2025

This month I am going to start a new monthly news update post, applicable to both QRC web sites:

    mrdsqrc.wordpress.com
    pistoldrillqrc.wordpress.com

    Pistol Drill QRC News

In March, the pistol drills got a new QRC; Tom Givens’ interesting and challenging ‘3-2-1 at 6 @ 6’ drill.

April 1st saw the release of the challenging ‘Alaska Failure to Stop’. A target file featuring the large, furry target is available as well!

On March 19 a link to a downloadable zip file containing all target files was added to the site. When unzipped, it will populate a directory complete with all pdf target files from the site.

If you have a useful pistol drill, or an optic you would like me to add a QRC for, please let me know. I’m always interested in new ideas to make the sites more useful.

    History of the QRC

I’ve had a couple online questions about the history of the QRC.

In 2021, I started shooting a dot on my game pistol, a Glock 34. The optic was a Holosun 507c. I discovered when I got to the range or a match, I could not remember what the operating controls did. It occurred to me I could make notes on a 3x5 card, which I did. Since my handwriting is poor, I started a project to create printable “cards” on my PC. I went through the user manual and extracted what I thought would be useful, put some graphics in, and printed it out.
I started a thread online and shared the card out. Folks mentioned it was useful, so I started making cards for other optics over the next couple years. I put the cards online in a Google directory in early 2023, but they were always meant to be printable.

In late 2024, I experimented with wordpress’s web builder, and found that with a few tweaks to the card format, I could upload them to a web site, which I did. This resulted in mrdsqrc.wordpress.com. At this point in 2025, there are QRCs for over 80 mini-red dot sights available.

October 2024 I leveraged the QRC concept to record details of popular pistol drills. Along with the drills, I had been making target files during COVID, so it seemed natural to add these files to the drills, and so pistoldrillqrc.wordpress.com was created.
