    New rimfire cartridge: 21 Sharp

The new cartridge allows for a wide range of bullet types including full metal jacket (FMJ), copper matrix and plated-lead options. Jacketed hollow point (JHP) bullets will also be available in 21 Sharp, delivering extreme expansion and energy transfer.

There may be use cases that aren't front and center to me. Like I can imagine maybe squirrels or prairie dogs under lead-free rules or something.

I was really hoping they had pulled their heads out of the warm, dark place and made a .20 cal version of the .17 WSM. It would be soo much more useful a cartridge with a little more mass. They just couldn't advertise the useless excess velocity.

Looks like a lead free version of the 22LR. I didn't see any real advantage to it other than that.

It gets away from heeled bullets, so there's more design adaptability down the road.

I mean....a brand new cartridge without having a fair amount of platforms to shoot it - having 4 options that are supersonic is more likely to operate a semi-auto and prevent a bad rap right out of the gate.

But it’s a non-starter for anyone shooting suppressed. I know that’s not californians or hunters though and that seems who it’s angled at, but four options and they couldn’t make one quiet?

That's great - but you miss the point of marketing to the masses vs. a small subset of folks.
