I've had no issues with probably a couple thousand Fiocchi SPP so far; for a while last winter/spring they were about all that was consistently available retail around here. That's in a mix of 9mm semi and 38sp revolvers, including older K-frames and a newer Python. It's been Federal brass for 9mm and Starline brass for the revolver loads, on a Dillon 550.

I loaded 100 rounds of .38 Special with SA primers a couple of months ago (3.7 231, 158 Berry's plated, mixed brass) and finally shot up the last 35 this morning. All 100 went bang and generally hit near where I was aiming. Which is usually a me problem, not an ammo problem.

OTOH, this is a CCI primer I loaded around the same time and also shot during this morning's session. Or at least tried to shoot. 3 strikes and still no bang. Maybe I'll keep it and call it my Creasy Special.

    Bad ideas, brilliant execution

I have used both primers with good results.
