Agree completely. Direct milled is the better option.

People keep saying that but with thousands and thousands of rounds through MOS cut guns with no mounting issues I don’t really see it myself. Haven’t heard any reports of mounting issues from anyone else in my Agency either, and we’ve now had optics in the field for a couple years now (although not in huge numbers yet, but they’re starting to become available to be issued out to everyone now) and the guys who’ve had them for a while shoot a lot…

Rumor is the Trijicon RCR failed to meet CBP durability requirements because they had issues with the mounting screws coming loose. I don't know what brand of plates CBP is testing with the RCR but I'd guess the plate is, at least partially, the problem here.

There's been at least one ACRO mounting plate that's come loose in Tucson. But I'm out of the loop now on all this stuff and am just hearing bits and pieces.

No idea, the RMR HD just got added to the AEL though…maybe it was those weird screws?

I can confirm Battle Werx is fast. I had a slide delivered to him the morning of the 26th, it was shipped out on the 30th, and delivered yesterday. The milling looks good and the EPS Carry fits well. The threads feel very smooth.

My guess is the MOS plate is too shallow to offer a good bite for the capstan screws. Something like the C&H plate with its separate threaded inserts or the ZEV-style posts may be needed to help stabilize the optic.
