So...I've been living with the vet wrapped / LimbSavered version of my 642 for several days now since undergoing the transition.
I love the feel in hand. (I have not shot it yet in the new attire, but I can tell it'd be comfortable.)
That said, I'm not thrilled with drawing from a winter coat pocket with the combination of wrap and LimbSaver. The tackiness of each of those two, especially the LimbSaver, from what I can tell, can foul the draw unless you have a good full hand grip on the gun before retrieval. (Of course, I know that's optimal, in any case.)
However, if you are wearing gloves, even reasonably thin winter gloves made from fleece or thin leather, the grip you have may or may not be as optimal as you think, unless you have time, and then...may pull on the liner material of the pocket as it leaves the holster. (Mika and Uncle Mike's are the two I've been testing. I also have an Aholster which has not been tested.)
This leads me to consider removing the wrap and LimbSaver and stick with the Hogue Bantams, (G-10 version, with the Piranha texture), especially when my wadcutters arrive from @
Lost River next week.
Am I the only one with this concern? (I realize it can be jacket dependent...the winter coat I've been wearing for the cold days has pocket lining material that has a sort of "felt-ish" feel...for warmth, I suppose, despite being thin.
