Speaking of the Volund Atlas, has anyone tried the extra thin Biothane Slim from them? I’ve debated about trying that one several times, but given that it’s geared toward AIWB, I’ve been surprised to never hear anyone on PF review it. Have only seen discussion of the regular nylon Slim Atlas here.

Another reason i'm so enamored with the HC belt is it has replaced my Enigma's. I was an early adopter and huge proponent of the Enigma. I never used one as an everyday holster, but for board shorts/sweats around the house or when dressed up with a tucked in shirt, it was my go to. The HC belt with one of my normal holsters works great, doesn't move around on me and allows me to have that option when traveling without packing an extra piece of gear. I have a Mastermind Covert belt as well for the same role, but the HC is just better. I get it's like 4 times the cost of the MM, but that belt literally works for everything for me. Aside from the HC, I really only use leather belts when wearing a tucked in shirt.
I prefer a holster on my belt, the Enigma fell into that ankle/shoulder/fanny pack holster role for me where it was the best tool to have at certain times. I didn't really like any of the belt or buckle options. It was never a full time carry method for me. Yes, around the house in beltless pants or shorts, or under a tucked in shirt i'll wear the HC belt over an undershirt but under the pants.
Tenicor Zero for me. I liked it so much I bought the Velcro version for my duty belt. It's an amazingly simple product that just works.
Since switching to appendix back around... 2018? I've primarily used Graith and later Mastermind Tactics Specialist and Specialist Pro models. At this point I think I have one in every color they make, as well as one of the loop-covered models I wore as an underbelt with my duty rig for about a year and a half. Overall, they seem to be the easy button, relatively affordable, stiff enough vertically yet flexible enough lengthwise to avoid the hula-hoop effect of stiffer belts more suitable for OWB or 4:00 IWB use. I really appreciate that style of buckle as I like to don my belt loosely, then put on holster and mag carrier, then grab the tail and crank down to desired tightness.
Enter the Tenicor Zero. I hate this belt for AIWB. I really wanted to like it, but I couldn't make it work for me. The captured tail is a neat trick, but it's simply more difficult to tighten under a load than the external tail of the Mastermind. Also, while the belt is very pliable and comfortable, I found it too flexible for my liking. Caveat: I have not tried the Heavy version, which may address that complaint. Alas, same buckle, so no thanks. Interestingly, I love the Zero Underbelt, and wear it every day at work with my duty rig. I'm not adjusting that belt under tension like I am when wearing an AIWB holster, so the buckle design is just fine.
Next up, the Hunter Constantine Carry Belt. I'm still evaluating this one. My initial impressions were that, yes, it is as comfortable as everyone says. No hotspots or lower back pain like I sometimes get with the Mastermind belt. But, it just doesn't feel like it's pulling the gun in as much as I'd like. I have it cranked down pretty dang tight, to the point that it's a pain in the ass to get the buckle hooked, and it still isn't providing the same level of concealment as a more loosely worn Mastermind. I want this to work, so I'll keep trying, but I'm not convinced yet that this is the right belt for me.
I'm currently using a Ares Gear Aegis. I also have a tenicor zero. I'm starting to like the Tenicor better.
**OK**
Same question I posted in a thread specifically on the HC belt, since this thread is a little more active. What are people’s experiences with heavier guns? Does it work for at least some people with things like 1911s and steel frame 2011s, or is that typically going to have the tip-out problem Casey ran into?
I’m really intrigued by this belt and would love something that put less pressure at my 5:00 and 7:00, but having zero experience with a belt like this I don’t know what to expect for pulling the grip in.
Is it possible the keel principle has extra application here and the HC does better with long holsters? Maybe wedges are more useful than usual? I carry a full size 1911 with a larger size wedge on the holster so if either of those were true it would be good news for me.
