In the first few months of owning my Diamondback DB9 G4, the trigger pull was light, and I was impressed with it's accuracy. Unfortunately, that changed after one of my cleaning sessions. I was cleaning around the exposed rear part of the firing pin assembly when I heard a click. I cleaned and lubricated everything just as I had before, and reassembled. It has never been the same since. The trigger pull weight now feels heavier than either of my double-action revolvers and the two dowels closest to the trigger try to work their way out of the gun until I tap them back into place every 12 rounds or so.
I happen to have a new firing pin assembly that I ordered from the Diamondback site when I ordered some magazines. Should I attempt to disassemble the slide? I take machines apart for a living, but this would be my first real firearm repair. I really don't want to send it to Florida and wait around for months.
