    Help with part ID

    Any H&K armorers out there?

I'd like help to positively ID a part that has come into my possession.

I picked this up at an estate sale last weekend. The deceased homeowner was definitely a gun guy.

I'm pretty sure that it is a lower receiver / trigger housing for an MP5. However, there are enough different configurations on HKparts that I am not 100% sure, and I don't really have any hands-on experience with the MP5 outside of attending FITP at FLETC and growing up in the 80's.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

IIRC the hammer is different between 9mm and 5.56mm/.308. Not sure how to tell the difference though.

After looking around a little more, that appears to be a G3 lower. The frame's tail on the G3 lower is longer than on an MP5 lower because of the dual rear takedown pins on the G3.

It's a G3 lower. Here's an example of what is probably the same type of lower.

In contrast, here's the original lower off of my HK 91. The front pushpin holes are clipped and instead it has a shelf (typical for HK 91's), but overall you can see the similarity in shape, length of the tail, etc.

    Thank you, gentlemen!

    You've both been very helpful.

A Safe Easy Fun part.It doesn’t look like an MP5 lower.
