Thread: returning to the range, looking for tips

I know, I know, there is probably a grip or other physical reason for the low and left but I would fix it w/ sight adjustment. You can fix the left by sliding the rear sight to the right = free. The low would need a taller sight but...as a test, grab a roll of black tape. Cut little 1/2" long strips the same width as the width of the blades on either side of the notch. Apply your strips parallel to the barrel right over the top of the blades goal being to raise their height. If your rear sight has white dots lay the strips on the top of the slide and up to the top of the blades but not down the rear side where the dots are. I am a believer in that I make my pistols shoot where I want them to via sights. If I change later, I can change the sights later too. Not going to fight whatever happens naturally by trying to force my body to do something it doesn't do w/o a lot of extra effort.

The recoil is fairly consistent and I can recover fairly quickly from it since its always about the same, but I feel its still to much. Any tips?
Assuming I am understanding what you wrote correctly, and you were doing a Measurement Drill, that is a perfectly fine result.

That means you could pull the trigger as fast as possible and, assuming your grip doesn't break down, all your shots will be within a 5" vertical spread at 5Y. That will be mostly A zone hits if you are aiming at the center of an A zone.

The sights on my X-5 have a vertical adjustment, as well as horizontal, so I will play with it and if that solves it, then I'll see what I can do with my others.

It just seems like a lot of movement. If I'm aiming at a 12x12 target, which is my usual target, at 5 yards my second shot is almost off the target.

Don’t worry about that for now. Muzzle rise is largely irrelevant. Recoil anticipation/pushing down is what you want to eliminate.
I don't speak Woke. Can you say that in English?

Any drills to help focus on that?
