1911 Duty Guys--What are you using for Force on Force?

The title pretty much says it all. If your department allows 1911s/2011s for duty, are you using a dedicated conversion kit for FoF training? I'm not seeing anything from UTM or SIM in production. Umarex doesn't show anything on its website either. Maybe one of the higher quality Airsoft guns?

Just gathering info on what might be an option. TIA!

I've gone back and forth between the 1911 and Glock over the years. I'm not sure who makes it, but I've used airsoft. I can look at work in the next couple days and tell you who made it.

My old org has/had a couple 1911s that were set up with Sims conversions. Gunsite does as well. That said, I've seen 12ga conversion kits for sale more recently than I've seen 1911 kits.

I'm kind of surprised there is not yet a Staccato kit, but the gun of the month over there could work against it.

I'm probably not disclosing anything proprietary here.

I talked to an LE rep from SIMUNITION today. He said they are working with Staccato on a conversion kit especially now with Ontario PD and a few other big purchases. No ETA yet but he said the kits are in demand and in the works.

I had heard the same about Staccato working a Sim setup but it has been slow in coming to the market.

Back when I carried something besides a Glock, I’d just keep an extra Glock holster on a QLS for training days. All the guys I know carrying non-Glocks do the same. I’ve done both the 1911 and P320, but we’re a Glock agency. All our sim pistols are Glocks (except a couple old revolver conversions). Personally, the very low round-count of sim trainings on a Glock were never enough to be detrimental to my performance on other platforms.

That said, I’ve gone back to Glock anyways now.

That would be the "A" answer. I was never happy with the accuracy of the 9mm Sims in my 191....in .45.

And I have done a bunch of sim active shooter stuff with my 6920 and 19q1...
