Yeah, I should have known better. The last 48 hours have been hit or miss...which seems to be "normal" now for this site.

You'll have spurts of good response, no problems posting, editing, etc. and then you will hit a wall where you basically have to wait. Sometimes these are long enough I go refill my coffee cup, or start my other browser up and look at other gun forums I'm on, see where my orders are in the pipeline, that sort of thing.

I haven't seen the Network Protocol Error very often, the site just stops responding, basically.

I’ve made it a habit to copy all before I hit submit due to issues posting.

I've made it a point to do this as well.
I don't post often, but it's frustrating to type a post and have it time out and disappear into unknown cyber-regions.

There's great info to read. But even that can be a challenge to access at times <sigh>

Copying before pushing submit is a good thing to do...

However.... I've found that when the site times out, if I start a new tab and navigate back to the thread I was posting in, most of the time my post is already in there...
If I instead hit the back button and submit again... that causes a double post.

Just happened, so I sat here and watched my system clock to give me something to do. It took 65 seconds for the site to respond to a "show new threads".

LOL I've had both of these issues. Actually surprised me to see a post I didn't think made it through.

At this point I'm not sure if it's a "feature" or a "bug" to just keep me reading more and posting less...

It is better but not remotely seamless. But for the quality of the info here, I would go elsewhere given the pervasiveness of the issue and the continued failure to solve the problem along with the relative lack of transparency re the entire issue.

Frankly, at this point, one could reasonably infer that the HMFIC knows what he has and what it means to the people that come here so he is disinclined, for what ever reason(s) to:
    1. Candidly acknowledge the problem
    2. Apologize to his users, particularly the site supporters
    3. Delineate an action plan to fix the failures
    4. Execute the same.

I will restate my offer to toss in an additional contribution if it would help the situation.

I'm curious as to what the host is saying the problem is. I can't see the number of users as being the problem. There isn't THAT much data being tossed around, its 95% text, not like a streaming service.

I'm with @HeavyDuty and willing to toss some more at it to fix it.
