$199 for an enclosed & aspherical lens optic. RMSc. Lens is 14mm x 21mm. Made of a proprietary AL blend. And then the battery cap/charger thing like its big brother.

...so who is gonna make this happen and report back to us???

EDIT: I am reading about this thing: The battery cap thing can charge the optic 3 times before it needs to be plugged in. The optic also has a small light to show battery level, but I wonder when that light is present to view.

That same coworker who bought one of the original Olight Sights told me about this compact being released. It lives on something he doesn't shoot much (I think a 10mm P320 or maybe Glock), so he cannot really speak to durability.

I ordered an Osight S to go onto my new Ruger RXM early February. I had to contact their customer service to get clarity on which screws to use for the RXM. They replied promptly and I was able to get it mounted securely (I did have to shorten the mounting pins).
The Osight S looked great on the RXM. The low profile of the base is perfectly even with the bottom of the rear sight notch, so the
iron sights are completely unobstructed. This looked like the perfect match of gun and dot.
I was able to shoot some nice, tight groups with this set up....
    then the dot went away.
I put the "charger" on it and it indicated a full charge.
I let it charge overnight, mashed the buttons using every possible combination, still no dot.
I returned it and they promptly sent me a new one.
Ran about 60 rounds through the second one and the dot went out. Ran the same drill. no dot.
They are going to refund the purchase price.

The Ruger RXM has excellent irons, the big tritium dot in front is really easy to pick up quickly.
I really want to be able to preserve that sight picture, so I want to find a dot that doesn't have a tall battery compartment that
    blocks the rear sight.

    Any recommendations ?

I'm very pleased with my SCS Compact on the P365XL, and the EPS full size on a P09C

Vortex CCW can be found for $199 on sale. It's also the RMSC footprint.

I believe it has a low deck height but is not enclosed.

I need another cheap red dot and rolled the dice on this new S model a few days ago. Hope mine works and doesn't suck. It was $171 shipped... Damn close to the price of a used 407K or the mentioned Vortex CCW.

Oof, that sounds frustrating, to have issues like that with a new optic. Sorry.

I had a Holosun 407K X2 GR from a previous use that I put on my RXM. Also had to shorten the pins. Paid $239.99. I like the 6 MOA dot quite a bit. Open emitter, though.

I also like the EPSc I had previously that I sold because: reasons. I've also heard folks like the Romeo X Compact. Lots of options since the RXM can accept RMSc, DPP and RMR optics with the dowel pins Ruger uses.

    Frustrating...yes.
I really loved that sight, briefly...

I am actually leaning towards the Holosun 407K X2 GR.
I've been debating 3 vs 6 moa and it finally sunk in that a 6moa dot only covers 1 1/2" at 25 yards.
That's plenty small enough for "aim small, miss small" but should be quicker to pick up the dot.

I have the Osight in-hand. Both it and the Vortex CCW do NOT fit on the DPP Ti Glock MOS 407K/EPS plate. The posts (aka Zev posts) for the screws is too fat for both optics to slide onto the mount. I was all but sure these would work. I have the DPP Ti CCW plate coming now.

So no range session until next weekend at the earliest.

I recall GJM saying the early Holosuns had what seemed like a 20% infant mortality rate and I wonder where Osight is with respect to that rate? And if they will ever become an equal to Holosun in reliability?

I am going to crank the brightness on this optic and leave it on for the week looking out my office window. Hopefully get at least 100 rounds on it next weekend.

EDIT: As it normally happens, a PF member lists the Steiner MPS for a great price. So my backup plan will be to run the Steiner and move the Olight to a 22LR pistol. But I am still going to shoot this S on a 9mm pistol slide for at least a few sessions to see if mine holds up.
