A new Rapier and Dagger set, by Jesse Belsky.

The Rapier came mounted with a Darkwood Armory blade. It was fine, but it was too dainty for the hilt. I cannibalized the blade from an old Cold Steel Rapier I'd had for years. The hilt was hot garbage, but the blade was pretty cool with its deeply hollow ground cross-section. I fit it to the hilt with an evenings work and it's perfect.

Another one by Jesse Belsky. A Spada da Lato, or Sidesword circa 1600.

Jesse had this one lying around the shop 90% finished. He said, "I don't know what I'm going to do with this one." I replied, "Finish it and sell it to me!" So, here we are.

A Hanwei/Tinker Bastard Sword blade was adapted here for use as a single-hander. This results in a sword with a very stout, authoritative feel, but in no way cumbersome.

    Hilt of Norman's Type 26.
Pommel of Norman's Type 42 (variation)

    Blade length: 33 inches
    Blade Width: 1 5/8 inches
    Weight: 2 pounds, 14 ounces
POB: 6 inches from the quillon block

I am developing a pathological desire for something I had no idea existed: a late medieval/early renaissance stone bow. The 12-year old part of me that wreaked absolute havoc on anything standing still long enough to target with a wrist rocket really, really wants a second childhood, only bespoke:

I’ve grown somewhat fond of this guys output, both smithed and video’d.

Yeah, I’d be worried about bounceback, for sure. That said, Tod was able to get some good hits in that video.

I bet you could F up some serious hobo with one of those, big time.

I love a nice Sidesword, as a cut or thrust fence-sitter, I'm quite a fan of them lol. I think this is the first time I've seen a fishtail pommel on one. Fantastic piece.

Wow, that is pretty close to that original. More points for historically inspired, if not 100% replicated.
