Damn, dude. I never thought of it that way. That actually *is* ludicrous.

At any rate—and I’m going to be as circumspect with regard the forum’s rules as possible here—there comes a time where poor law incurs lack of respect for *the* law. WA has hit that point in several disparate arenas. JMO, OMMV.

Maybe? I think most progressive politicians are mostly focused on looking like they are eliminating guns.

I've thought about that with attempts to pass AWBs with those old lists but exclude equally dangerous other firearms. Not that I want them to figure it out. Sometimes the bills seem like the Ruger Financial Support Act.

One can look to the UK for the extremes of knife policy.

I used to use public transportation everyday to and from work. There was a free bus ride for about 25 miles of my 40 mile commute. I haven't used public transportation since I retired. Even 10 years ago there were drug dealers and gang bangers using that bus. Some crazy people too. I kept my head on a swivel.

One day I got on the bus in town and noticed a crazy guy who approached some city maintenance workers. Crazy guy jumps one of the workers and his coworker took a home run swing at the crazy guys head with a shovel but misses. Crazy guy takes off running and the police roll from the precinct across the street. Crazy guy makes it to the next stop running down an alley and gets on the bus I'm on. I'm thinking I better call the police but then I think this guy is probably dangerous so just watch him for the 25 mile trip and hope nothing happens. Bus returns to town and crazy guy stays on it. I called the sheriff and explained what I saw. I think the po po probably grabbed the guy at the next stop but never heard.

First, WA has gone downhill SO fast. I only left 14mo ago...

Second, fuck it let's do it live. Someone go carry a Clinch Pick on a bus and get arrested. A succinct legal challenge against both this Public Transit ban AND the ill defined "illegal knife" law would be great.

There are no weapons signs at the hospital. I always forget that I have a visible knife clipped into my pocket. Nobody has ever said anything to me about it, including security.

Even in (at least for now) gun-friendly Pennsylvania, when I buy a gun a Rural King, I am escorted out of the store by a manager who hands me the gun at the exit, even though I have been legally carrying a gun the entire time. No big deal but laughable.
