Tragic outcome, but who’s really surprised?

    Not me….

Not very bright but does lack ambition
I don’t, and I don’t feel much better about simple ALS retention either - I always use ALS guards to add a second step and protect that button. I don’t use active retention much since I quit hanging out in the ‘hood, though.

She clearly planned to do this and knew how to work the holster. While the video asks the question of why this was so easy, the question I do not see addressed is what would drive her to do it. I know nothing about her individual circumstances, but our society is currently so f***** up that 1 in 3 teenage girls has considered suicide.

I see the pressure my own daughter puts herself under to conform to whatever set of standards matter in her world. My understanding is that teenage girls have always felt or put themselves under pressure, but what I see today is crazy.

With apologies for the thread drift in the support gear subforum, making sure our gear is secured and access given after only careful consideration goes beyond holster selection.

Where did you see confirmation that it was a thumb break holster?

Also curious about thumb break detail. If it was, I’m curious if it was actually engaged or not.

Because it provides an illusion of some standard of “retention”……

What you saw is not what you think you saw.

What I thought I saw was this type of holster……Name: IMG_1727.jpeg

My point being an observation about how little true retention strength this type of holster offers.
