    Expressing irony, sarcasm, etc.?

Some things such as irony and sarcasm don’t always come across well in plain text communications. On another forum in which I participate, we highlight such text in purple to help avoid misinterpretation (especially common between members who don’t know one another very well).

So far, I haven’t noticed whether pistol forum has a convention for this. Is there one?

Nothing standard that I can point to... I tend to use /sarc or some obvious hashtag when I want to be clear about it...

Gosh, in the relatively short time that I've been a member, I can't recall having seen any sarcasm or irony expressed.

Wouldn't it be ironic if P-F held a convention? I don't mean that sarcastically. Or do I?

Maybe it's just like my opinion, man.

This is a very confusing topic.

I find it simpler to just assume sarcasm.

    On occasion, I stand corrected.

Mostly we assume that people aren't being sarcastic. Then we get butthurt and start a huge argument.
