The nearest college town advised everyone to leave their vehicle unlocked at all times to avoid smash and grabs. Local insurance policies were voided by failure to lock doors so, as thefts from vehicles continued, insurance payouts stopped. I thought that was about as dumb an advisory as it got but here we are.
Almost everyday some idiot leaves his or her car unlocked and then complains when it is broken into. Many with the key in it. One guy always leaves his garage open. Duh.
