My son recorded me in a class we did together. I was watching my sights here and giving the target all my 1911 has to offer. Trying to look beyond my sights when I can see my sights and the target too, well?

As mentioned doubles is primarily a grip / consistent return drill.

Within that context, it is also a diagnostic, not a standard. What I mean by that is you don’t “pass” doubles. Looking at your target. It tells me you need to go faster. Push it till you reach the point where you have a few misses and re-evaluate your grip to make it durable at that speed.

As far as shooting target, focused, using soft irons, I would probably start watching some videos from Tim Herron.
