What commercial ammo did you have the light strikes with? I have experienced light strikes in 32 S&W Long in a Model 31-1 with foreign ammunition that I suspect had hard primers.

MagTech & S&B 32 S&W long wad cutters and Lost River's 32 H&R mag wad cutters had light strikes. Fed 85 grain HP and my handloads with Fed primers were OK.

Same with Magtech LRN in a 632 as mentioned earlier. Hornady, Fiocchi, Federal 32s - no problem.

Thanks. My light strikes in the 31-1 were with Magtech also.

Magtech’s primers can be harder than Ochem class. Not sure what to make of Lost River’s ammo… with that, I’d suspect something gumming up the firing pin channel, as noted.

But I’m not there, grain of salt, etc.

Here's some fired and unfired S&B, some fired of my handloads with Fed primers and a couple S&B light strikes that didn't fire even with a second try. Both of these S&B fired when I tried them in an old I-Frame.

I'll probably pull the side plate tomorrow and inspect the firing pin.

Thanks for the replies. That is good news. These little guns need every FPS they can get if you are using JHP in them.

Now if one of the dealers I've contacted could just a gun in hand for me...

Picked up the 432UC today. Sight is bold and bright.

Trigger feels like a well worn in J, with Apex kit.

My 15yr old son was making head box (4x4) shots at 20yds with ease.

    Beyond impressed.

Grips could be more grippy, rear sight set screw was loose, and my hand size is a bit too small for the grooves, but those are the only faults I could come up with. I'll survive.

This sounds exactly like the thing I was hoping it would be.
