    I’m totally pumped.
The lack of low-recoil flite control in 20 gauge has been holding me back from considering it a viable fighting option.
When I can order some in Canada I’ll finally get a 20 gauge SBS. Probably a shockwave I’ll accessorize with all the bells and whistles.
I sure hope it actually is low recoil. Most 20 gauge buckshot has a good kick to it.

    Entirely possible.

But then we're at the point of the product details being more typo than real info.

Maybe I'll hang on to my 11-87 youth 20ga...

Despite what they all may think, this is your daily reminder that marketers are NOT writers.

Will be interesting to see if a #2 buck load at reduced velocity can reliably penetrate more than 12". I would have been more optimistic toward a #1 buck load. We'll see.
Since there are very few 20 ga loadings currently commercially available in #1 buck (i.e. Nobelsport and Rio), that would have been a great market niche.

This greatly intrigues me. I think, if it's plated and hardened, #2 might have a hope of getting to proper depth, but only time will tell. But this would be so freaking awesome. I need to acquire some and play with it.

Well this just makes the lack of 18in 20ga 870 barrels even more frustrating. My 20ga project has been on hold since 2019 because of that.

FWIW, I talked to one of the ammo guys at Federal last week at SHOT.

This fellow told me that the 20ga load was engineered specifically to get 12"-15" penetration in calibrated gel, which is why they had to go with 1325fps rather than a more sedate velocity. He also said he was getting about a 10" pattern @ 25 yards out of one of the test shockwaves, which is pretty solid performance.

I hope it hits the shelves quicker than the #1 they announced at SHOT last year.

Do we know if this is actually a 2.75" load?

AFAIK No 2 Buck for 20 gauge is always in 3" shells with factory loads.

No 3 Buck is in the factory 2.75 shells
