    Gear change stamina drill

    Here's a drill that @JCL and I ran today.

    Name: StaminaDrill.jpg
Views: 110
Size: 13.8 KB
5yd open Classic target at far left
2 x 30yd full size poppers (or equivalent steel), non-falling.
5yd open Classic target at far right
At shooting position: 2 sticks, 3 yds apart

This drill is shot with no timer. Stop if you miss steel.
Start straddling L stick (straddling = one foot on each side of stick, in any way)
    1) Move toward R stick, 2 shots on R paper as fast as you can pull the trigger (doubles speed), shooting on the move
    2) 1 shot on each steel (no makeups; stop if you miss) while straddling R stick
    3) Move toward L stick, 2 shots on L paper as fast as you can pull the trigger (doubles speed), shooting on the move
    4) 1 shot on each steel (no makeups; stop if you miss) while straddling L stick
--repeat until you run out of ammo or miss steel--

    > 16 rounds (2 full L-R passes) is a good run.

I found that my willpower started to run out after about 5 runs. My hope is that doing this drill more will increase my stamina for visually and mentally demanding shooting.

Sounds like "fun." How far apart were you straddling sticks? I presume the papers were directly in front of each?

    Diagram added above.

Straddling means one foot on each side of stick, in any way.
