I have a few model 19's. It's the modèle du jour for revolvers.
It's a question that people ask on every gun forum I've every participated in. I have no idea why anyone would ask that question.
I think it's like the 3 gun thing. Not sure what that's all about either. Probably so people can indulge in their prepper/survivalist fantasies and meet up with like minded people.
Even Costco sells the emergency food buckets now.
One never know when N. Korea, China or Iran is going to send a missile our way. Best be prepared.

In the P-F basket of deplorables.
With no "parameters" I'll default to using my own, so...
A Colt Wiley Clapp 9mm Commander worked over by Evolution Armory or a Browning Hi Power (SA-35 or Girsan counts) worked over by MK3 firearms
The Colt being what I would choose if both options were presented to me at the same time.
"Well you know, it's a toolbox. You put the tools in for the job." Sam
Glock 19, Gen 5, MOS.
Small enough to conceal well, in most situations. Large enough to handle well. Very reliable, easy to detail strip, and parts/accessories are easy to find.
When I retire I plan to get something else to carry, and compete with, but I will always keep a couple 19s, and several mags, for those reasons.

Can make any combination of small to larger gun.
My Dan Wesson Pointman Carry 45, which is a CCO.
I love it as a carry gun and I could use it with a handheld light for home defense. I actually own two of them, one with tritium for carry and one with black/red for training.
But I could also say a full size Operator, which has a light mounted for HD use and could be a workable carry gun if a bit big and heavy for that role.
Push come to shove, the CCO.
A Colt 1911 worked over by Jason Burton of Heirloom Precision.
Gold stripe front sight. HRT/SFOD-D-style recessed Bomar adjustable rear. Wilson round butt mag well. Vertical cocking serrations fore and aft. Ball mill end cuts. High gloss black DLC finish - and DLC all the things! P210 slide-top serrations for reasons. Mid-length Harrison trigger.
Five inch barrel. In God's caliber, of course.

And remember when demons and beasts cast their darkness, you have God's love - and Browning's wrath - to guide you.
