I really want one of these, but with a thumb safety. Around $1430.

Pricey but probably not really when the package is taken as a whole. I assume some of the bigger SIG outlets like Osage County or Proven Outfitters will have these for $1100 ish.

Agreed. Thumb safety or it’s not a M-anything.

Seems I recall reading they will offer just the slide/optic for sale at some point.

It needs to be in the holsters of GIs before it is an M-anything as well. From what I see it just a tricked out 320 colored brown.

Have any M17s been issued without the manual safety? I recall reading that the intent was to issue pistols w/our MS’s to SF type troops but it seems such soldiers are all using the G19?

Isn't SIG cutting the chassis for a thumb safety now regardless of how the gun ships?

I just bought a M18, specifically to get a 320 with a thumb safety. Would like to get just one of these uppers. I out a Romeo 2 on and have a Romeo X Pro on the way.

What was it about the Romeo 2 that you didn’t like? Or, is it the multiple reticle options on the X beating out the semi-enclosed emitter options on the Romeo 2?
I like my rifles like my women - short, light, fast, brown, and suppressed.

Our SRT guys running the Romeo 2s keep breaking the shrouds off. They don’t seem very durable.

It is quite large and sits high. I will need a number 6 Sig front sight to work with the rear built into the optic. My understanding is the Romeo X Pro height works with the M18 standard front sight. A friend is running the X on a 365 and loves it.

I don't have the shroud installed on my Romeo 2 for that reason.
