    I’d rather just build up a M&P with Apex barrel and goodies and call it a day.

    Same as all the other "metal" series M&Ps. Only weigh an ounce or so more than the polymer models. However, reviews have been positive.

    Isn’t Faxon a lower quality manufacturer?

    I’ve been considering a comped M&P. I suppose I might as well get a threaded barrel and comp for a pistol I already have rather than that setup

    I haven't used their pistol barrels, but their rifle barrels have been very good. I have a couple of their pencil barrels that I quite like.
