Was curious how everyone was getting along with their zero heavy belt for AIWB? I pulled the pic from their site and don't understand how to size their belt. I have a regular zero belt in size 32 for a 32 pant and it fits perfectly for aiwb with just enough tail going to the left (exactly like the Pic).

However, the heavy belt stops the double layer well before where my AIWB holster would be, no? Are you all sizing up to get more of the double layer in that area and does that work? From the pic, I am not even sure upping one size would be enough. Or are you just shifting the buckle way left?

I don't. Same size as the other zero's. Works fine for me, just offset the buckle if you need more of the doubled up material up front.

FWIW_ I have ordered 36 on 2 regulars and one heavy. I typically wear a 34 pant.

I went 34 when the heavy zero first came out because I got impatient and they had sold out of 36s. That was a mistake and did not work well for me without offsetting the buckle which was something I did not want to do. Sold the 34 here when the 36 got back in stock and have not looked back.

My default in Wilderness, Mastermind, Tenicor(Zeros) has been +2 from my pants size.

    Tenicor heavy Zero belt

@Cool Breeze, this is a really good question and it's frustrating that belt makers don't provide precise measurements of the stiff part. I shift it to the left, but I still want my buckle to remain between my front belt loops. For best performance, I've found that I want the belt to be tightened within 1" of minimum. Especially with the Zero Heavy, which is really not very stiff.

I wear 31" pants. My actual dimension through belt loops is: 33” (tight) -35” (with holster).

I bought a 32" Heavy belt. The non-stiffened part was 10" long, and the stiff part is 33". I cut off excess to leave 6.75” non-stiffened and re-sealed the tip with epoxy.

I still have a love/hate relationship with the Heavy. The buckle is the only thing that makes me want to use it. It's genius. The strap sucks. It's not stiff, but is super thick.

I'm 38 inches with holster - 10 inches of non-double thick does not cut it for me if I want to keep the buckle between my first pant loop like you (which would be ideal). Thanks for that dimension. What do you mean "I've found that I want the belt to be tightened within 1" of minimum?"

Is this belt any "stiffer" than the regular? I am just hoping for something better (even if it is just by a little bit). I am in love with the buckle.

I have pants belts I bought at REI that are stiffer than the Zero. The Heavy is way stiffer than the Zero, but not as torsionally stiff as I prefer (e.g. Swift CSM).

When the belt is close to its minimum diameter, it's at its stiffest for AIWB. For 3:30 carry it probably doesn't matter.

The buckle is so awesome that I've been wearing it despite all that.

Gotcha - thanks for the quick response. I just upsized. They had 2 left in 34. Hopefully this works out as I wear mine for the buckle too despite the fact I have an Aegis and Kore that are stiffer as well.

What are you guys carrying where you need such stiff belts? I like many started out with Ranger belts then went to wilderness 3 stitch. The less stiff belts work better.

Picked up a Zero underbelt a few weeks ago, perfect for AIWB with a 43x upto a G34.

Can someone who has a Heavy Zero and a Mastermind Specialist compare the thickness of the two? I much prefer the regular zero to the mastermind belt, but wish it was a tad thicker to allow a little sturdier purchase for DCC clips and pull the dot loops like the mastermind offers.

Put me down for loving the Tenicor Zero’s buckle design but wishing the belt was a tad bit stiffer. Looks like I’m in good company.
