It appears the shooter is still at large.

Been a long time since I tuned in to a live event on the news channels. I've had to turn the mute button on for both CNN and fox news. The absolute crap that these people are spewing is just mind-boggling and absolutely stupid.
I'm hoping they will hurry up and get the press conference going so we can actually learn something
Everyone knows there is utter chaos, panicking people calling from multiple locations with mixed information and yet...
I'm watching a thread of pure insanity on another forum where every single race, sexual orientation, gender assignment, religion and political affiliation has been directly accused.
Along with(of course) accusations of false flags by Fb1. Based purely on speculation, anger venting, paranoia and the vile trolling impulse the internet releases.
It's like watching a dementia virus spread on fast forward.
There’s all sorts of conflicting information.
Apparently there’s one possible match to the suspect who is a registered sex offender convicted of child, pornography, offenses in 2016.
There’s also information claiming that the suspect is an army vet, who recently retired after 20 years.
Looks like two individuals with the same name but different middle initials who live in the same general area and are born in the same year.
Based on open source, it’s hard to tell which is which. Given their year of birth is the suspect was convicted of a felony in 2016, they would not have been able to complete 20 years in the army.
Apparently, Lewiston Maine has become home to large numbers of middle eastern and Somali refugees.
I’m curious as to whether that will be a factor in this incident.
