Thread: Wilderness Tactical Swift Belt

  1. #131
Belts are something that I've generally had high hopes for upon ordering and immediately disappointed in use for various reasons. I order the 5-stitch Swift and have had nothing but positive experience thus far. That said, I wonder about the CSM and what exactly that is. Is it similar to the Scuba material that is used in the Ares belts but a single layer between the outer layers?

It is a layer of somewhat rigid plastic sandwiched in there. I used the 5-stitch for years but just tried a couple CSMs. Stiffer and bulkier, but not objectionable, IMO, and I wish I had tried one sooner.

Saw the ideas of running the tail on the inside and really liking that idea, I figured I'd give that a try when it arrives. I've been using the Masterminds specialist belt for about 2 years and while I loved it, the velcro seemed to be aging with the day on and day off use as well I started really liking the idea of "set it and forget it" having a buckle like the Wilderness belts offered so I ordered an easy fit, 5 stitch in grey and it arrived today.

I put it on after checking it out something just seemed off. I like running the tail on the inside like others have discussed and then it hit me and I came back to this thread and compared it on the website just to be sure. I could be wrong, but I believe the velcro on this particular one was sewn on the inside of the belt. I say "inside" because both hook and loop are on the same side as the wilderness and size tags. After looking at models on the website and from other pics in this thread, it leads me to the same conclusion. It showed up threaded so that it would go to the inside and that was how I tried it on not really thinking anything of it. I don't know how their manufacturing process goes, but I'm also wondering if the company/size tag was just sewn on the wrong side? In any case it's a bonus for me and so far I couldn't be happier with it lol, but maybe I’m just mistaken and I ordered wrong?

So far, I absolutely love the firm but flexibility it offers and I find it more comfortable than the mastermind. Being a bit smaller in the waist belts can get too rigid too quick as its been noted in this thread.
my sizing info is on the opposite side of the loop velcro

Sam is looking into how to do no velcro. Currently it covers up something and tidys things a bit.

It's awesome how this project is evolving in response to customer feedback. Well done!

I might have gotten grumpy at another company, whose belt I intended to try, but the name of said belt seems to reflect the stock levels.

So, I pulled the trigger on an Easy-Fit Swift instead. But like a dolt, I ordered the wrong size. I promptly realized my mistake and emailed Wilderness to see if it could get fixed before shipping. Sam got it straightened out and the correct size is en route to me.

Looking forward to this arriving and getting a chance to try it out. Glad the market is able to offer multiple options and that Wilderness and DSG are working together to ensure both product evolution AND the ability to you know...buy the product in question.

The more I live with mine the more I like this idea. And I do like adjusting mine in small increments, and this would make it easier. Not just every time I eat something, but more every time I add or subtract gear or garments. Especially true this time of year when I might alternate between OWB and IWB (and maybe IWB mag pouch) all while wearing more and more layers, like yesterday at three gun.

ETA: I also have a GRIP6 setup (one buckle, three belts) that I wear for work and casual when I am not wearing a gun, and the tail behind the belt works well.

I am peeved at myself, last year I was in town for a funeral and had a Friday to myself. I had a nice time checking out Ben Avery, but I should have visited Dillon and Wilderness!

That size 34 from another company is being returned today as I didn't like where the doubled area of the belt ended. I ordered a Swift CSM.

I looked at mine, and the Velcro covers the end of the second layer, if you omitted the Velcro it seems like the whole loop could be flipped so that was on the inside.
