I've had a M1A NM for a long time but that beast is too heavy to carry around much.
Another vote for the M1A NM. One of the most accurate reliable rifles I've ever owned. Countless rounds, I'm on my second barrel.
Owned it since the early '90s.

    I like it's overall "handiness".
It's not that much heavier than SCAR, but has true AR15 ergos (I have to use an extended magazine release button on SCAR 17).
I also got the magazine conversion for the 901. However, it's mostly a conversation piece.

A quick check last night makes it look like they’re selling for Scar money now thanks to the Autist Cult of Colt people.

From reading on the ruger forum, reliability is a crapshoot. Rolling gas system design change was mentioned, but it really sounds like just general QC problems. Gas port sizing, not aligned with FSB, etc. Lots of guns going back to the mothership, but generally coming back running was my take. I hope they get it worked out because I still want one!

How many times have you had it bedded?

I ask because according to the internet (who apparently all agree the M14 is the worse weapon ever to be fielded) you need to re-bed an accurized M14 every time you pick it up or look at it wrong.

Sorry for the sarcasm but I’d really like to know if you have ever had to re-bed the action?

    No worries.
    I've had it bedded 2x :
Once with the factory barrel and then again with the Douglas bbl.

    Shoots awesome.

I must have gotten a Wednesday morning gun (as opposed to Monday morning or Friday afternoon)...I've had my 16" since last November, @ 600 rounds so far with zero issues.

Which is amazing...because I have absolute $hit luck usually.
