The round of ammo is a bit hard to see, but I used .38 Special powder coated bullets from the same gentleman who sent me the bullets I showed a couple posts ago (in 9mm) to shoot the jack. Using a Combat Masterpiece. Tackdriving load and gun.
Head shot the bunny.
The round is just below the barrel.

A small order of .45 ACP arrived today, spent a few happy minutes loading up for my next range session.
The HST was on sale at $0.60 cpr from TargetSports USA, so picked up a couple boxes.
The "New Republic" is 230 FMJ, which at $19.99 a box of 50 new/brass I thought it would be worth checking out a couple. It's from the "European Union" but I'm not precisely sure where. A quick Google search of one source said it was made "in Hungary at the MFS factory owned by RUAG Ammotec Group, which owns other known ammo brands including NORMA, GECO, RWS, etc.". Which is ok, I gather TargetSports has a deal with them to import and sell in the USA. But hey 40 cpr is 40 cpr.
I checked a few rounds and they appear all the same OAL. It is listed on their web site as 853 fps, which would put it the same velocity as Sellier and Bellot SB45A I've purchased before. Not quite as zippy as Federal AE, which lists as 890, but if it runs, I will probably buy some more as range ammo.
