    S&W 15-3 2" Combat Masterpiece - Minor Mods

Did some minor mods. Installed a Wolff Standard Power hammer spring and a brand-new strain screw. The old strain screw had the tip ground off. I polished the trigger rebound slide and installed a Wolff reduced power 14lb trigger spring.

    Removed the trigger overtravel stop

Installed aBK grip adapter and painted the front sight bright orange. Trigger and grip are much improved.

    Case Hardened Goodness

    The finished product.

+1 on trigger overtravel stop removal

I remember, probably in the early to mid '70s, that S&W issued a memo for the removal of the overtravel stop in revolvers carried by LE officers. It was probably one of those things that might fail at the most inopportune time. Better to be safe than sorry.

That is a beautiful revolver inside and out. I remember back in the day when I bought a S&W revolver, the appearance of the casehardening is what sold the revolver, if I had a choice between several revolvers of the same model number. Fantastic find.

Man, your post caused this set of grips to cry out at me from my "grip crypt" and remind me they have no proper resting place.

The path of least resistance will seldom get you where you need to be.
