Q - I saw the email about the new Sordin attenuation kit at around $105. I already have a set of gel seals on my Pro X’s. Is there any chance the kit might ever be available with just the rings and foam?

A - “…Sordin only sells the interior foam with gel or foam ear seals. Buying the cheaper foam ear seals with the inner foam and rings cost would be the same cost as our gel SFA kits. Best deal is to get gel SFA kit and have a spare set of gels. Thanks, …”

When indoors or when RO-ing Open shooters, I put my Sordins over my Otto earbuds, still can hear everything perfectly clearly and get more than enough concussion protection. I used to use a set of Surefire pressure valve plugs under the Sordins and those are another good solution to increasing the performance of the Sordins indoors or around comps.
Sold my Otto's last yr. (funky ear canal = poor seal) but will try the SF pressure valve's that I still have inside my Pro-X's, thx for the tip.

I got my pair, installed, and shot a two day match in them. I can't really say anything one way or another. I also changed the plugs that I wear under to just 16db ones so just too many variables changed to make a conclusion.

@YVK what 16db plugs are you using under them now & before?

Previously I used custom molded electronic suppression plugs, with and without batteries in. I didn't like electronic muffs over electronic plugs, pretty much hearing static from both, if not an amplified static. Molded plugs without batteries under the Sordins gave me the most noise attenuation but I had hard time talking to people even when I took Sordins off.
My current plugs are made by Loop Earplugs. I have several but currently experimenting with Engage Plus with an insert. They are explicitly not for shooting but for ambient urban noise. Combined with Sordins I get better noise protection than with muffs alone and if I take muffs off I can easily talk to people while still getting protected from a moderately distant shot noises. Loops Quiet give 26 db and I plan on using them indoors under the muffs.

    Hmmm...

I guess they stopped carrying whatever it was?

Searching for flexible attenuation brought these results:
