    We had rodent issues in cars, and irrigation wiring and AC wiring. I have a friend who works for Orkin. He says the following is safe for the wild animals. No idea about dogs, but they should not eat the bait.

    Inside this bait box which is really the key here. The bait is toxic. You have to limit access to just rodents able to fit in the box and nothing else. Therefore the box must be sturdy, locked and heavy. These are great.

    Change bait every other month or so, get a box for every 100 feet you want protected. We have had zero problems since I started this regimen years ago. We do find rodent corpses sometimes and if your dogs like eating dead mice and rats, I don't know if it is safe or not.
