Brazil Bans 9mm and Limits Gun Ownership Through Executive Order

Brazil has had a rocky history with gun ownership. Brazilian President has now banned 9mm through executive order for citizens and limited the number of weapons that an individual can own to six. Colion Noir has a video out as well.

It is a good start, especially if you are a hardcore leftist politician who sees an armed populace as the problem to be solved.

Or do like they did in Europe and run 9x21 when 9x19 was illegal because the military used it.

    Doesn’t work like that there.

Brazil previously restricted most people to a max caliber of .380 (9x17mm) / .38 special.

The prior President (Bolsonaro) upped that to allow for 9x19.

It’s not uncommon- Mexico has had the same restrictions for decades.

The old days of anything goes as long as it’s not a military caliber went away along time ago. There’s actually a cottage industry in Mexico re-marking .357 revolvers to “.38 Special.”

It’s also why the Glock 25 and 28 are a thing in many places.

Maybe a good market for 30 Super Carry. Do they also have capacity limits?
