Thread: CZ P07 RDS Question

  1. #21
I have a P09 cut for an RMR by Primary Machine, works great.

The P series slides are not "skinny", an RMR or EPS is a great fit with just slight overhang. I would not go with an EPS Carry personally.

If I were doing it today I would get it milled for either an EPS or a 509T.

For the work check out Nameless Arms, they do a precision optic cut for a reasonable price. Thinking about using them for my P01 with an EPS Carry.

I have 2 P-07s cut for EPS Carry RDSs. Work done by Cajun Gun Works. No rear BUIS. I like the work very much. I don’t feel the window size of the EPS Carry holds me back. I have a Shadow 2 with a 507, and some TSs with 507s. The difference in horizontal window size does not seem to affect my shooting.

    507c v EPS

I appreciate all the responses to my original question, which was 507 or 504?….since I have one of each on hand.

The discussion of the EPS models aside, are they so superior in some way that it justifies the additional $350 expense as opposed to on of the 500 models I already own?

I know that’s a personal decision, but other than being enclosed are there other compelling reasons to go for the EPS?

    Thanks again,

    George

I think the closed emitter is the biggest reason to go with the EPS. My experiences with open emitter RDS getting contaminated were bad enough (dust, lint, rain, snow) that I waited until a mature closed emitter optic was available before committing to carrying one.

A direct-milled footprint restricts your options in the future, so I recommend choosing a standard that you'll be happy with long-term.

The 507c uses a RMR footprint, which is probably the widest standard (although not my preferred choice for CCW).

The smaller 507k, EPS, and EPSc use a Shield RMSc type footprint.

I'm not sure which of those you already have. (There is no 504).

If it were me, I’d go with milling for the K footprint so you can upgrade to an EPS or EPSc.
