Thread: 38 Special SD ammo for 2” K Frames

That is a great load. I hand load one that is very similar. I could just use mine but after spending a few years on this forum, I have been convinced that I should use only factory ammo for defense purposes. It pains me to shell out the cash when I have a reloading room stocked to the gills with components, but it is what it is! LOL

Now that I know you are manufacturing ammo, I will order some stuff from you. Not only are you a PF'er but a fellow Idahoan as well! (I'm over in the Treasure Valley area)

What does everyone think about the Hornady Critical Defense .38 spl 110 gr +P. It seems to do relatively well in tests (compared to loads like most 158gr LSWC +P).

Tougher bullet designs in .38 Special can perform significantly better than .380 Auto after auto glass.

The relatively fragile Critical Defense bullet is not engineered for hard barrier penetration, but expands reliably and has moderate recoil.

These two videos use Clear Ballistics gel, however, I think they demonstrate those points

Hornady claims 11.25 inches of gelatin penetration after heavy clothing

The standard pressure loading can perform similarly but tends to not expand quite as large or reliably

Dude, get a grip on yourself. You just posted a video of the guy more fahrvergnugened than Paul Harrell. I've had several large glasses of Maker's Mark this evening, but I'm not drunk enough to recommend that guy's videos.
